All
HTML files will go in the 'yourname-www' directory. Make sure
you are in the "yourname-www" directory before uploading
your files. The "www"
folder is same exact folder, there is no difference. Do not delete
this folder.
Your
control panel is located at http://www.yourdomain.com/menu/. Please
use your IP address (http://123.45.67.123/menu/) until your domain
registration or modification is complete. Your IP address is the
actual physical address of your site. The domain also points to
your site so it can be accessed with both addresses. This true
with any web site.
When
accessing your control panel, you will be prompted will for your
username and password. Please, use the username and password e-mailed
to you after you signed up with Masterpiece Hosting. Remember,
that the password is CaSe SeSiTiVe. You will need to enter it
exactly as it appears in the e-mail. Your password can
be changed by clicking the "change password" button
in the Control Panel and following the simple instructions.
Before
beginning construction and uploading of your website, and after
your domain and IP address have been established, your home page
will be pointed to an "Under Construction" page titled
"index.html". The page that you would like viewers to
see first should typically be titled "index.html". If
the web page design software you are using gives your homepage
a different name (ie: default.html), then delete the "index.html
file to prevent having multiple homepages.
Initially,
you should never delete or edit any files or folders that are
located in your home directory.
When
you need support, please click the "E-Mail Support"
button in your Control Panel. This will provide us your domain
name and the e-mail address. These e-mails are given the highest
priority. Be sure to sign up for our news letter so that you can
be notified of any news, information or updates available from
Masterpiece Hosting.
