How
do I use the File Manager?
The
File Manager is designed to be very user friendly and easily
navigated. The File Manager button is located in the Control
Panel. From here you may access the "username-www"
folder where all of you web page files are stored. It is normally
recommended that you name the first page you want your viewers
to see "index.html" or "default.html" depending
on the software you are creating your web pages with. Make sure
you are in the "yourname-www" directory before uploading
your files. At the bottom of that directory, you have several
options, including:
Edit/Create
File: Input new file name to create file or input existing
file to edit a file, then click the button.
Create
Directory: input directory name you want to create, then
click the button.
Send
this file: This feature lets you upload files from your
hard drive to our server. Click browse, choose file from your
hard drive, then click upload to upload it to the yourname-www
directory.
To
delete a file or folder, click the 'delete' link next to the
file/folder and click confirm delete.
To
password protect a file/directory click 'pass' next to the file/directory
and set username password.
